  1. Superkid, I know your Aunt was distressed when she foumd that you did not have all the parts of the telescope since she had indicated to me how much you like star gazing. I was there when she made the call to Toys R Us and were most helpful. They first want us to return the original telescope but when they found out how far away your home is they said to just keep the old one for spare parts and sent the new one. That is by far the best cusomer service I have seen in a very long time. That should provide you may hours of good star gazing in the future! Say Hi to all and am sorry I will not be able to see your Father when he comes for his visit:-( But I think we shall all meet somethime in the future. The best to all…UIL

    Dear Fares,

I’m so happy that you enjoyed your birthday gift, and even happier that Toys R Us were so generous as to grant you a new telescope due to missing parts. That was quite some customer service, indeed!

I do hope you get to use your apparatus and learn more about astrology. I’m pretty sure your dad would be a good mentor, and yourself an excellent student, avid for knowledge and information, as always.

Keep-up the good work and enjoy your summer vacations!

Love and kisses – Amto Maha

Well, Superkid! Welcome back and what a great post. I’ve never heard of such amazing customer service – how wonderful. :) You’re right, patience is a virtue…

Enjoy your summer and adventures in star gazing! What fun. I hope you’ll post something on all the wonderful things you see in the night sky. All the best!

    • I recommend that you buy your toys from them. What are your favorite games/toys?
I’m happy you always read and comment on my blog. I’m thinking of writing one about the FIFA World Cup 2010. I’m supporting Argentina.

    Habibi Superkid

    Very nice post!!!

I’m so proud of you since I didn’t help you out at all with the writing of this post.

Keep on blogging… my friend… my son :-)

    And Superkid…

I suggest you make a move. This groovy girl seems to have a crush on you :-D

    Habibi Fares,

What I meant in my previous comment was “astronomy”, a natural science that deals with the study of celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies), etc…, as opposed to “astrology”, a group of systems, traditions, and beliefs which hold that the relative positions of celestial bodies and related details can provide information about personality, human affairs, and other terrestrial matters. Astrology is generally considered a pseudoscience or superstition by the scientific community, which cites a lack of statistically significant astrological predictions.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation. I thought it might help shed a light on distinguishing the two closely knit and related words.

    Love – Amto Maha

  7. Hi Superkid,
GREAT post indeed – thank you so much!! I can so much relate to having a telescope – it was my favorite for a LONG time and right now I do have a more advanced one – with parts missing and I have to find a way to correct that and get them ordered.

I always LOVED astronomy … I took a semester in college – just for the heck of it and retrospectively I have to say, it was the most difficult I have even taken (because of the countless physics rules I had studied in high school but long forgotten) but as well the most fascinating I had ever attended! To all of a sudden see the craters of the moon as if they are just a block away … to recognize there are indeed rings around Saturn … to get a feeling for what’s out there and at the same time feel like an ant (or even smaller) in comparison to all that – a fantastic experience!

Keep on blogging Fares – you’re doing a fantastic job!!

BTW – ask your dad to show you how to find the north-star – I bet he knows! It’s always fun discovering it and you never know how you can use this knowledge …

Best regards and a high-5 from Albuquerque, New Mexico!! :-)

  8. Hi Karin

I hope you find the missing piece for your telescope. Dad told me that New Mexico is a great place for star gazing. I hope I can visit there some time.

  9. Dear Fares, you’re always most welcome!! :-)
